Description:  South Dakota introduced its Infant/Toddler Certificate in 2005. The certificate requires 20 hours of entry-level Infant/Toddler Training (PITC), followed by 45 hours of advanced training in the Child Growth and Development area of the South Dakota CDA program. Training is provided by regional Early Childhood Enrichment offices.

The Child Growth and Development section of the certificate training also counts toward earning the South Dakota Child Development Associates Credential (CDA), which requires additional hours to complete.
