Description:
A tool kit for new parents was developed [as part of governor Mark Warner's Education for a Lifetime initiative] that. The tool kit includes information for new parents on child care, child growth and development, nutrition, health care, infant safety, resources on early childhood programs and services offered throughout the state (including a toll free telephone line that links parents to child care, health insurance, health, and other community resources, and parenting support).
The tool kits are also available in Spanish.
Update July 2009: While the kit containers are no longer being produced with print materials, a new website for parents is being developed that will allow parents and kit distributors to download New Parent Kit materials: www.healthyfuturesva.com
