Description:
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the Nebraska Department of Education in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center have launched a Pilot Project to develop integrated systems of care for young children (birth through 3 years of age) with behavioral/emotional issues.
UNL Public Policy Center is contracted to provide administrative oversight of the Early Childhood Mental Health Systems of Care Project. Through a competitive bidding process, Mary Lanning Hospital Foundation in Hastings, Nebraska was awarded project implementation.
The project's intent is to provide collaborative structures that coordinate service delivery, develop evidence-based services to effectively identify and address the unique behavioral needs of young children, and create partnerships among families, service providers, and policy makers across all systems that impact the lives of young children.
Update July 2009: This two-year project has ended.
